I help transform people, aligning their personal development with their business goals, for maximum success. My approach is based on psychological, evidence-based methods and many years of real business experience.

Companies know that they need to develop their best people, particularly leaders, to achieve a competitive advantage in a tough business world. Companies are also more likely to attract and retain the best people by having an enlightened attitude to coaching as part of career development. If you’re taking on coaching for yourself, you are making a real commitment to your future.

The type of clients I work with have usually got where they are because of technical excellence. They recognise that their expertise in understanding, motivating and communicating with others may not be at the same professional level. They realise they need to hire an expert in the field to get the best results.

You have been busy building a career. If you look at human psychology and business success in theory and practice, it is not so much that you are going to make mistakes; it’s more that you might miss opportunities. It is my job to challenge some of your assumptions about yourself, your colleagues and the way things need to be done.

Return on investment can seem tricky to measure when it involves people. Yet none of the clients I have coached to date has the slightest doubt about the value. Studies in the US and UK have put ROI at 6:1. Taking into account the effects of a more sophisticated and successful workforce, improved relationships, better-functioning teams and the reduction of costs through retention and internal succession planning, where else can you get a return like that on your money?

When choosing a Coach you need to check their credentials, their philosophy and code of ethics. I am an accredited Executive Coach of the Association for Coaching (AC) and have been a member for over a decade. I am also Regional Director for the Caribbean and Miami region of AC.

I have been consulting on gender equality for 25 years with clients including BP and Unilever. I have seen plenty of change over this time, but there remains a lot of work to do.

Coaching takes place in face-to-face sessions, or sometimes over the phone/or on screen if time is limited, at regular intervals. The first session should be three hours to explore your requirements in greater detail and to have a real understanding of all issues before we can set goals. After that, two-hourly sessions are usual – and there is homework!

The short answer is that it depends on the nature of your goals. In basic terms, it takes a minimum of three months to change behaviour and six to embed it. So, on average, in a series of six sessions over six months, real change and personal success should start to emerge.
